Metaphor Clara is a wistful cloud, floating in the distant. The pleasing and convoluted cloud that testms to lie so close, yet so distant beyond mens reaches. She is the light and pubescent cloud, impertinent to the sphere below. She watches over the world with her farseeing scan and ethereal trance, unaffected by profane turmoil, unable to interfere. She is the laboured cloud, leaden by droplets of emotions from below. She carries this burden, and becomes life-giving rain, that sooths the land. She has no defined form, constantly ever-changing in accordance to her environment. Analysis In Isabel Allendes novel, The House of the Spirits, Clara is a central figure that may be compared to a unavowed cloud, far beyond ones reach.
